Chechen Culture has been Advertised in Lublin
A festival which name is “Multicultural Lublin 2009” held in the Polish city Lublin between May 27-31,2009. And Chechens introduced their culture in this festival.
The festival “Multicultural Lublin 2009” held between May 27-31,2009 in a candidate city of European Culture Capital 2016, Lublin and organized by Lublin Culture Center and Lublin municipality, also many ethnic and religious organization contributed to festival.
The project coordinator Anna Krawczyk said, Lublin city is the owner of many ethnic and national minorities in different religions during its history, despite the diverseness local people of Lublin live in peace. The main aim of their festival are breaking stereotypes and strengthening to communication between this groups.
An ethnic minority group of the festival were Chechens. On the evening of May 29, 2009, Chechens showed their national dance figures with the dance group “Stars of Chechnya” which established by Chechens in Lublin. At the same evening Chechens gave information about the culturel and religious life, also their history. The Lublin Voluntary Centre was attended this evening with their volunteers and staff personels. They have opened a mini photo exhibition about the life of Chechen refugees in Lublin and their past life in Chechnya. And they did a presentation about integration of Chechen refugess.
