Congratulations for the Independence Day of Georgia!
The Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Chechen Republic Ichkeria Parliament, Akhyad Idigov and the widow wife of the Chechen Republic Ichkeria’s I.President, Alla Dudaeva published a letter for the congratulating of the Independence Day of Georgia.
Here is the full text of letter:
“On behalf of legitimate power ChR-Ichkerija, Parliament and the Governments lawfully representing the Chechen people, we congratulate the Georgian people with Independence Day of Georgia. The Chechen and Georgian people live in the neighbourhood for many centuries, and always were and remain as friendly people. On May, 26th, 1918 is a new mark in the history of Georgia when the first independent Democratic Republic Georgia has been proclaimed. Georgians, our dear brothers and sisters! This day we, the citizens of Chechnya – Ichkeria, celebrate together with you, and know, we are sympathizing you!
The Chechen people is adjusted on all-round relations with Georgia both the next people and the countries that the world and stability on caucasus have triumphed. Our people have proclaimed the idea of freedom and democratic transformations on own territory and have recreated the sovereign and independent democratic lawful state in October, 1991 according to international law. Our state has been recognised by legitimate authority of Georgia on March 13th, 1992, but all it, unfortunately, did not become an obstacle to imperial ambitions of the Russian Federation-Russia. And as a result of Russian aggression people of Ichkerija since 1994 conduct heroic struggle against the Russian invaders.
After the occupation of Chechnya, Russia has made aggression against Georgia too, in August, 2008, and has illegally grasped Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Moscow once again has very coarsely broken the international principle – non-interference to internal affairs of the foreign states. Our position in this question is unchangable: relations between Georgians, Abkhazians and Ossetins should be regulated, leaning through referendum which has passed on March, 31st, 1991 in Georgia and on international law, without any pressure from outside.
In this holiday of independence of Georgia we urge the international community – to confirm the position in conformity with international law on support of the right of Georgia on firmness of its statehood, and we urge to condemn annexation by Russians of the Georgian territories.
