“Angel of Grozny” and Her Husband weren’t Released!
“Angel of Grozny” nicknamed Khadizhat Gataeva and her husband who were trying to save innocent victims -Chechen Orphans- of Russian genocidal war in Chechnya, didn’t release by Kaunas city court and district court have started to a new trial against them.
Khadizhat Gataeva (1964) and her husband, Malik Gataev (1966) were arrested on 16 October 2008 by Lithuanian security police in Kaunas. And in June 2009 Khadizhat and Malik Gataev were sentenced to 10 months jail instead of almost 5 years demanded by the prosecutors. They had to be released on August 14, 2009 with this decision of the court; however, for some unknown reasons Prosecutor Nomeda Oskutyte protested the Verdict and demanded that the detension should be prolonged till the case reading in Kaunas District Court. Kaunas local city court prolonged the detension of the spouses to three months on August 14. Kaunas District Court initiates new case No. 1-A-442-348/2009. A new trial of Khadizhat and Malik Gataevs begins on August 25, 2009 at Kaunas District Court, 18 Mickevicius Str. on 3 pm.
It seems that on the very confusing situation of Khadizhat Gataeva and her husband Malik Gataev surrounded by the agents of Lithuanian State Security Departmant (VSD). The Lithuanian officials are unable to explain what is happening there. So Lithuanian authorities must explain immediately whose this orders, from Prosecutors of Court or Prosecutors of VSD?
