DDoS Attacks to Dissident Ingush Webpage
Magomed Khazbiev, leader of Ingush opposition, reported that their webpage published some materials about violations at local elections so there were several strong DDoS attacks against their webpage especially during last two days.
Two days ago, the DDoS-attacks (Distributed Denial of Service attack), which continued during the last two months on the website of the Ingush opposition “Ingushetiyaru.Org“, reached its maximum; therefore the whole day yesterday, as reported by the leader of the Ingush opposition Magomed Khazbiev, the work of the resource was paralysed, despite strong protection and permanent work of the website programmers.
“We have so many protection tricks installed at our site, but all the same, attacks continue. For the latest two months, we’re all the time opposing the attacks. But these recent days the attack was especially powerful. We’re attacked all the time, by earlier they were weaker, but last night it was something terrible – the count of visits exceeding one million. Someone is purposefully fighting against us. But, I think, the site will work all the same,” Mr Khazbiev told the “Kavkaz-Uzel” correspondent.
According to Khazbiev, these last days the website has published materials and facts, in particular, on violations during the elections in Ingushetia on October 11. Magomed Khazbiev believes that the powerful attack was somehow related with this.
According to his story about the voting day in Nazran, on October 11, Magomed Khazbiev detected and registered the facts evidencing that some other person cast votes instead of his family members. And similar situations could be observed in many settlements of Ingushetia.
“On October 11, at about 3 p.m., the editor of my website “Ingushetiyaru.Org” came to my place; and we decided to go to the polling station and make some photos,” Mr Khazbiev told the “Kavkaz-Uzel” correspondent.
“We went to the Philharmonic Society (where a polling station was organized, – note of the editor); it was same empty there – nobody in the yard or inside the station. I found the table with the letter of my surname and said: “I’m Khazbiev.” The woman found surnames starting with “Kh”, turned two sheets over and said: “Oh! Your people have already been here today!” he said.
Magomed Khazbiev has added that in his family 10 persons have the right to vote; and he saw in the voters’ list that all his family, except for him and his father, had already voted. “And none of them had come there yet! Mother was not event at home the, and the sister, for whom someone had signed the list – she lives in a different location at all,” he told.
According to Khazbiev, similar cases, when other people voted for residents of the republic, happened in the city of Magas. And in Malgobek, said the oppositionist, securities themselves filled in ballot papers and dropped them into boxes.
