Gataevs Sentenced for the Second Time

According to support page of Gataevs, Lithuanian court sentenced to couple for 7 months more prison.

On September 25, 2009, Kaunas District Court declared its verdict after studying appellations of the prosecutor and the defense concerning previous verdict of Kaunas City Court. Only appellation of the prosecutor was taken into consideration. Both Khadizhat and Malik Gataevs are sentenced to one year six months prison including 11 months they have already spent there. The sentence is based on earlier unproved absurd ground of protecting racket of their wards, i.e. on evidence of the aggrieved Magomed Gabaev and Denis Volovsky, who had officially disclaimed their evidences during previous trial. This contradicts to juridical norms.

Khadizhat Gataeva, The Angel of GroznyBoth Khadizhat and Malik Gataevs were absent during declaring the verdict. Malik was arrested the day before but was not taken to the court, however Khadizhat is in a hospital.

The verdict will be appealed at Lithuanian Republic Supreme Court. As a possible revenge, a provocation seems to be organized against Denis Volovsky who himself is now accused of protection racket of other wards.
