Condolences for the Great Son of Estonia

After suffering from a long battle with cancer, 72 years old Linnart Mäll, a friend of Chechen people, the first President of Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO), a scholar and a social activist passing away on February 14.

Linnart Mall was a friend of our first President Dzhokhar Dudaev. When Dudaev was still a general in the Soviet Air Force, he was stationed in the Estonian city of Tartu, where he was brought into contact with the scholar Linnart Mall and they had compared notes during this period. Moreover, he organized to publish of Alla Dudaeva’s book “Million First” in Estonia. Also on 27 March 2004, Linnart Mall was awarded with “Medal of Freedom” by the Parliament of Chechen Republic Ichkeria for defending the human rights and raising public awareness of human rights violations in Chechnya.

Alla Dudaeva, widow wife of Dzhoxar Dudaev, published a statement and conveyed her condolences to the relatives and friends of Linnart Mall. She said that Linnart Mall was a friend of whole Dudaev family and Chechen people will never forget him.

The loss of a great man and the great son of Estonian people is a big sadness for us. Chechen people will always remember Linnart Mall.
