People Evicted From Their Homes in Gudermes and Kurchaloy
People in Gudermes city and Kurchaloy village of Chechnya are evicted from their homes under the pretext of road construction.
Several families have already lost their homes. People do not know to whom to complain and how to protest. Puppet ringleaders threaten to punish all those who disagree. Local residents say that in the near future villagers in Bachi-Yurt and Aleroi could be also threatened with eviction.
Earlier, the ringleader of puppet regime, Ramzan Kadirov, ordered to impose a special tax on cattle and poultry, which feed rural residents of Chechnya. Those who do not pay taxes were threatened with confiscation of all poultry and livestock. “One of these days we were told that under the order of Ramzan Kadirov we now have to pay taxes on livestock. Thus, a cow is taxed as 60 roubles per month, and a hen – 20 roubles. That is, if I have, say, ten hens, I’ll have to pay 200 roubles every month. They also say that keeping more than three cows is undesirable, because they’ll take away ‘extra’ cows,” said a resident from Novogrozny village, Gudermes district of Chechnya.
Villagers who do not pay debts for housing and communal services, gas and electricity were threatened with confiscation of houses, flats and property.
Due to taxes and fines that most residents of Chechnya can’t pay because they live in poverty, the occupation regime of Chechen puppets intends to “increase tax revenues for the budget”.
