New Victories of Chechen Sportsmen
In last two weeks Chechen sportsmen acquired successful results on judo and wrestling.
19-year old Vadud Balatkhanov won the gold at the European Junior Judo Championships U60kg in Tartu, Estonia on April 17-18. Vadud, son of well-known Chechen painter Vaharsolt Balatkhanov, fighted in Finnish national team. After this victory, Vadud took over the fifth place of European Judo Union’s Ranking List with his 76 points.
On April 18, Muslim Kantayev attended the youth wrestling championship of Germany in Berlin. There were more than 200 athletes among juniors between 9 and 17 years old. Muslim fought five times and didn’t give any chance to his rivals. He won the golden medal. On April 24, Muslim Kantayev was also fighted in Rimbach at Germany wrestling championship among school teams. His school team from Taucha town of Leipzig won the bronze medal.
On April 25, Germany’s Nackenheim city hosted the 15th International Karl Von Steiger Wrestling Tournament. This year 184 wrestler among 6-20 years old boys and girls from 29 sports club attended the tournament. Our 10 citizenship took place in the name of Belgian sports club “Raeren 2006”.
