Demonstration in Memory of Zarema Sadulayeva

According to local sources, in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya there was an event held in the memory of Zarema Sadulayeva, who was kidnapped and killed one year ago yesterday.

The representatives of local civilian organizations, human rights defenders, journalists and ordinary people who knew Zarema Sadulayeva and his husband Alik Dzhabrailov, attended the demonstration. The participants pointed out that one year after of the murder, there isn’t any advancement in the investigation of the crime.

Recall that Zarema Sadulayeva, head of the local children’s charity “Let’s Save the Generation” and his husband, Alik Dzhabrailov were kidnapped from their office by armed and uniformed men on August 10. The following day the victims were found dead in the trunk of a car. The bodies were riddled with multiple gunshot wounds.

Alik Dzhabrailov had been jailed for four years for his alleged links to the Chechen mujahedeen. He married Zarema Sadulayeva two months after he was released from prison.
