New Project: Radio Programme “Anarchy in Afternoon”
In New York, a radio program which is dedicated to Chechnya and the North Caucasus, is starting with the co-operation of Waynakh Online.
Broadcasting live from SUNY College’s studio on the outskirts of New York City, every Monday from 1pm-5pm EST, “Anarchy in the Afternoon” is a radio show that goes against the grain and defies the mainstream. Beginning on Monday, August 16 2010, co-host Mike Capobianco will be hosting an hour long branch off of “Anarchy in the Afternoon”. This branch off will be devoted to keeping people informed about under reported news from regions around the world, especially Chechnya. A major portion of the show will be used to educate the listeners about the history of the region, traditions of the people of the Caucasus, and news from the area. Mike will be playing music from the region, describing customs and interviewing guests in order to help people outside of the region to see the beauty and honor of the Caucasus.
The program can be listened to via radio frequency or on the internet.
After the radio program is broadcast, it will be available in Waynakh Online’s “Podcast” section, which is now under construction.
