Trial of Umar Israilov’s Accused Murderers Continues
On March 25th, the trial of Umar Israilov’s accused murderers continued at the Vienna Criminal Court (Landesgericht für Strafsachen) in Austria.
On Friday morning, two men who had been involved in a Chechen Culture and a sports club were questioned. They said that the defendant, Otto Kaltenbrunner (Ramzan Edilov) was operating in Austria.
Normally, four other witnesses must be ready at the court, however they were excused and did not attend the trial.
The second defendant, Suleiman Dadayev said that he was the target of an assassination plot by a radical Islamist group, but he could not disclose the details. “Our laws do not allow it, thus I cannot do it publicly,” said Dadayev.
The judge Friedrich Forsthuber said that the Moscow Prosecutor General’s Office has not yet responded to the request for assistance on the interrogation of Ramzan Kadyrov and Lecha Bogatirov.
Thus the hearing will continue on May 24. The other trial dates are fixed for May 30 and June 1.
