Along with his pupils, Umar also participated in the tournament in the adult category and won a gold medal.

The gold medal winners: Khamzat Radzhapov (25 kg), Baysangur Musaev (29 kg), Magomed Arsaev (32 kg), Abkhan Khakimov (35 kg), Rasul Radzhapov (42 kg), Artur Arsanaliev (60 kg) and Umar Chekarbiyev (96 kg)

The silver medal winners: Ramzan Khakimov (32 kg), Akhmed Miskaev (45 kg) and Magomed Batyrov (60 kg)

The bronze medal winners: Malik Dadakaev (29 kg), Akhmed Arsaev (32 kg) and Magomed Dadakaev (42 kg)

On March 5, Croatia’s city of Koprivnice hosted the 8th International Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship, “Golden Rooster 2011”. The tournament was attended by 320 wrestlers from 36 clubs in ten different European countries. Chechen wrestlers became a part of this major tournament in the name of “Verviers City Club” from Belgium. The team’s coach was also a Chechen, Aslan Albakov. As a result of their success, they became the second ranked club.

The gold medal winners: Magomed Dasaev (34 kg), Zapir Yusupov (38 kg) and Mukharbek Kurkiev (53 kg)

The silver medal winner: Idris Tabaev (36 kg)

The bronze medal winner: Islam Kurkiev (35 kg)

Ibragim Tabaev (38 kg) and Islam Saydulaev (53 kg) took fourth place. On the other hand, one of the favorites for the tournament, Abubakar Tutaev was injured during the fourth bout and he was forced to withdraw.

On March 10, the sisters of European Judo Champion, Vadud Balatkhanov participated in their first tournament in Finland. 6-year old Kheda Balatkhanova took second and her elder sister, 8-year old Enisa Balatkhanova took third in their age group.

Alikhan Kasumov (69 kg) took fourth.

On March 19, the famous freestyle wrestling tournament for 6-17 year old boys, “the International Wittelsbacher-Land-Turnier” was held in Aichach, Germany. This year, 385 athletes from different sport clubs in Europe participated in the tournament which is organized into five age categories. Chechen coach Umar Chekarbiyev’s 5 pupils attended the tournament. Actually, before the tournament, Umar demanded from the President of their Austrian sport club “Voest” to participate in this organization. However, the President of “Voest” refused to fund the team’s travel to Germany and told him that our wrestlers have no chance there. For this reason, Umar and his five students went there on their own expense. The Chechen athletes proved that the President of their club was wrong.

The gold medal winners: Rizvan Khakimov (25 kg), Baysangur Musaev (29 kg), Zelimkhan Musaev (34 kg at 6-8 years old) and Abkhan Khakimov (34 kg at 11-12 years old)

The bronze medal winner: Rasul Radzhapov (38 kg)

On March 25, Chechen free style wrestler Akhmed Dudarov from the German sports club “Ludwigshafen” participated in an international tournament in Riga, Latvia. He competed in the 74 kg weight category. In the final game, he met with his teammate Carsten Kopp. The resistant and equal fight ended in a victory for Kopp with points. Our repsentative Akhmed Dudarov won the Silver Medal.
