Throughout June of 2011, Chechen athletes participated in competitions and achieved positive results in wrestling and judo in different parts of Europe.

On June 4, the German city of Anger hosted an international wrestling tournament in memory of Thomas Kirshner. A total of 140 wrestlers, between 6-17 years old, participated in the tournament. Chechen wrestlers from the Austrian diaspora competed in the tournament for the “Voest Sport Club,” which is under the management of Chechen coach Umar Chekarbiev. Another sports club with Chechen wrestlers from Salzbourg also competed. Umar Chekarbiev’s fighters came in third place as a team. Here are results from the Chechen wrestlers:

Ibragim Leymov, Mikail Leymov, Tamerlan Idigov, Baysangur Askhanov, and Sheikh Mansour Askhabov won gold medals in their age groups. Naim Abdullaev and Imam Askhabov won silver medals in their categories. On the other hand, many of our athletes won their second medals because they fought against older wrestlers.

On June 26, the German city of Bonn hosted the 15th wrestling tournament in memory of Willie Voley. A total of 127 athletes from 21 different clubs in Germany participated in the tournament. Here are results from Chechen athletes:
