Belarus Extradites a Chechen
The Belarusian news agency “BelTa” has reported that a Chechen man was handed over from Belarus to Russia.
According to the report, Ayndi Ukushev, born in 1988, was arrested by Belarusian border guards in March of 2011 while he attempting to cross the border in Brest to reach the EU. However, the General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation claimed that there was an international arrest warrant for Ukushev and demanded extradition because he is a former member of the Chechen mujahedeen. The Belarusian authorities accepted the extradition demand and handed Ukushev over to Russia.
