Protest Held in Austria for Aslan Kagermanov
The website Ichkeria.info has reported that a protest was held in front of the Croatian Embassy in Austria in opposition to the extradition threats against Aslan Kagermanov.
According to the report, on September 28, a group of Chechen refugees and Austrian citizens organized a protest for Aslan Kagermanov who has refugee status in Austria. The protesters read a statement and demanded the immediate release of Aslan Kagermanov who has been in the custody of Croatian officials since September 16.
“We, the protesters, demand that the authorities of Croatia do not extradite Aslan Kagermanov who has political asylum in an EU country, the Republic of Austria.
We remind that various international human rights organizations have recognized that Russian citizens of Chechen nationality, who are in colonies on national and religious grounds, are being tortured and humiliated.
In the case of Aslan Kagermanov, all the accusations have been fabricated by Russian law enforcement authorities. In Russia, his life is in danger and if he dies, the authorities of Croatia will the responsible.
We, the protesters, ask you, do not participate in this crime,” said the statement.
Vakha Banzhaev, chairman of the “Organization of Former Prisoners of Russian Filtration Camps from the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (OUFKL-ChRI)”; and Michael Genner, chairman of the “Asyl in Not” organization delivered the letter to Croatian Embassy workers.
