Chechen Family Arrested in Ukraine
The State Border Service of Ukraine has reported that their border troops arrested a Chechen family while they were trying to cross the border.
According to the information, on March 14th, a Chechen man, his wife and their two children, 5 and 6 years old, tried to cross the border at Uzhhorod where Ukraine has a border with Slovakia; however, Ukranian border troops arrested the Chechen asylum seekers.
The family ran away from the Russian occupied Chechen Republic of Ichkeria and arrived in Ukraine legally, but they intended to go to Austria for asylum. Now the family is being held in detention and an Ukranian court will decide their fate.
