Chechen Asylum Seekers in Turkey Gain Access to Free Medical Treatment
Waynakh Online has received information stating that Chechen asylum seekers in Turkey who have faced a difficult struggle in inhumane conditions over the years will have access to free healthcare.
On August 13, 2012, Kocaeli Governorship City Health Department sent a letter to the Kocaeli City Chamber of Pharmacists that all medical expenses of Chechen asylum seekers who had recently started to live in Kocaeli due to the order of the Interior Ministry, would paid by the City Social Aid and Solidarity Foundation. This means that hereafter; Chechen asylum seekers will finally have access to the complimentary healthcare system and will obtain their medications at no cost.
In the statement, it is mentioned that this practice will continue until Chechen asylum seekers have jobs and become involved in the general health insurance system.
