Solidarity Concert for Chechen Family Seeking Asylum in Austria
Local sources have reported that a solidarity concert will be held in the town of Waidhofen for Chechen asylum seeker, Musa Malinkov and his family, who are facing deportation from Austria to Russia.
According to the information, on October 25 at 09.00pm, a local band will hold a free concert in the “Bagger” Youth Center, within the town of Waidhofen in Austria to protest the deportation order against the Malinkov family and express their solidarity with the family. They know that Musa Malinkov was an active supporter of the Chechen National Liberation Movement and for this reason he was abducted from his house and tortured in a prison for days; if he returns, his life will be in serious danger. Thus, they are trying to draw attention to the family’s plight and save their beloved neighbors who are integrated well into their society.
Earlier we had reported the deportation threat facing the Malinkov family as well as local opposition to it. On October 21, locals once again gathered in front of the Malinkov family home to draw attention to the plight of the family.
Recall that Musa Malinkov, who is 30 years old, his wife Malika, their 3 year old son Rasul and 8 month old daughter Rayana have just had their asylum request denied by the Asylum Court and were asked to leave Austria voluntarily within 14 days. This period has already expired.
