Welcome Yankee at ReelWorld Film Festival
Welcome Yankee, a short metrage film about a Chechen refugee couple, will be shown at the 13th edition of the ReelWorld Film Festival in Toronto, Canada.
According to the festival’s program, “Welcome Yankee” will be screened on Thursday, April 11th at Famous Player’s Canada Square Cinemas (2190 Yonge Street Toronto, ON, M4S 2C6, Canada) at 7:00pm.
Recall that “Welcome Yankee” is a story about a Chechen couple and their journey from the Russian occupied Chechen Republic of Ichkeria to Montreal, Canada. The film’s creator is Canadian director, Benoît Desjardins. The soundtrack is made up of Birlant Ramzaeva, the voice of the Chechen people, and Richard Desjardins.
