The goal of this conference is first to renew and enrich existing work on the Russian-Chechen war, reporting on political and social developments in the region since the end of the Soviet period. Secondly, its goal is above all to reinstate the phenomena of violence that is at work in a comparative perspective, taking into account the revival of studies on contemporary conflicts and wars in the historiography of the twentieth century.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Chechnya \u2013 Logic of Violence and Experience of War&#8221; (Tch\u00e9tch\u00e9nie \u2013 Logiques de violence et exp\u00e9rience de guerre) is a part of the \u201cUnderstanding Violence in Russia: Wars, Political System, Social Trajectories\u201d project which is funded by the city of Paris. The conference has been organized by the Center of Russian, Caucasian and Central European Worlds Studies (le Centre d\u2019etude des mondes russe, caucasien et centre-europ\u00e9en &#8211; CERCEC, CNRS\/EHESS), Human Sciences House Foundation in Paris (la Fondation Maison des Sciences de l\u2019Homme), Free University in Brussels (l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Libre de Bruxelles) and French-Russian Studies Center in Moscow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Here is the program:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Monday &#8211;
