Islambek Albiev is World Champion
Islambek Albiev, a Chechen wrestler has won golden medal in 60 kg greco-roman category at 2009 World Wrestling Championship in Herning, Denmark.
Islambek Albiev, 21, who was competing in the 60kg greco-roman category for Russian Federation, beat the former Asian champion Dilshod Aripov from Uzbekistan in the final to take the world champion title on September 26, 2009.
During the championship, Islambek beat Venezuelan wrestler Rivas at 1/16 finals with 1-0 and 5-0; Serbian wrestler Davor Stefanek at 1/8 finals with 5-0 and 1-0; Stig-Andre Berzha from Norway at 1/4 finals with 1-0 and 1-0 results. In the semi-finals Islambek fighted with Nurbakyt Tengizbayev from Kazakhistan. The first period was 1-1, Islambek lost in second period with 3-0 and Islambek could success at the final period with 1-0 and passed to final games. In the final battle our athlete Islambek Albiev passed to games 1-0 and 3-0, so wins the world champion title.
Islambek Albiev is an amazing talent. This young is just 21 years old but he has won to all biggest titles which is possible. He won golden medals at 2008 Beijing Olypic Games, 2009 Vilnius European Championship and 2009 Herning (Denmark) World Championship.
