Gataev Couple are Free for Now
The Helsinki Times, a Finnish newspaper, reported that Chechen humanitarian activist Khadizhat Gataeva and her husban Malik Gataev were released.
According the newspaper, Finnish Supreme Court on Friday ordered the police to release the Gataev couple, after Lithuania dropped an extradition request and a European arrest warrant on the Gatayevs.
Let’s remember, on March 23, Lithuania’s Supreme Court ordered charges against the Gataevs to be re-examined and Lithuanian Ministry of Justice has removed the warrant of arrest on the couple.
