Wife of Slain Chechen Refugee Accused Kadirov
Österreich, an Austrian newspaper, has published a hot interview with Malika Israilova, wife of Chechen refugee Umar Israilov who was killed on 13 January 2009 in the streets of Vienna.
Umar Israilov, 27, was a former bodyguard of Ramzan Kadirov, ringleader of puppet regime in Chechnya. But later Umar left from Chechnya and appealed to European Courts of Human Rights on rights abuses of Kadirov. Sometime later, on 13 January 2009, two unknown men in military coats shot dead Umar Israilov in broad daylight in Vienna, capital of Austria.
We present you Jochen Prüller’s, correspondent of Österreich newspaper, important interview with Malika Israilova.
Österreich: One year ago your husband Umar was killed. How do you feel yourself today?
Malika Israilova: He was my first love, so I miss him a lot. I moved into a new apartment, because I couldn’t live in old environment.
Österreich: Who is behind the assasination?
Malika Israilova: I am sure that it was a contract killing which was ordered by Ramzan Kadirov. The claims, it was about blood revenge or money, are not true.
Österreich: What does make you sure at this point?
Malika Israilova: My husband was a bodyguard of Kadirov, but he didn’t want to kill people. He appealed on torture issue to European Court of Human Rights. Because of that Ramzan Kadirov wanted a revenge. The murderers received 500 thousand Euros for this job. The money was confiscated by Austrian police during raids at flats of killers.
Österreich: Can you explain us what happened exactly on 13 January 2009?
Malika Israilova: Umar went to shopping. He left his gun at home, because he was feeling in safe himself. Two men spoke him in the street. Suddenly he rushed and tried to flee. But they opened fire him.
Österreich: Do you think that Austrian police also responsible?
Malika Israilova: Yes, because police was knowing but did nothing. Before the murder, Umar had been threatened by a man. Umar explained the situation and requested officially police protection. But the police didn’t approve his request though they knew everything. Even the assasination plans was known by the police.
Österreich: Are you afraid that you are a threat for killers?
Malika Israilova: No, I am the only one who can spread the truth now. I am doing my duty for Umar.
