Theatre Show for Elza Kungayeva
The Italian association AnnaViva has reported that a theatre show, which is dedicated to Chechen girl Elza (Kheda) Kungayeva, will be staged in Milano.
According to the report, the Association AnnaViva and the Association lattOria have started a new co-operation and as a result of their joint work, a theatre play which is named “Elza K.”, will be presented in Italy. The play was written by Italian journalist Andrea Riscassi, and directed by Alessia Gennari, Fabio Paroni, Sara Urban and Paola Vincenzi. The play’s music was prepared by Frederico Gon. The actors from the Assocaition lattOria will perform and during the shows, articles and pieces of reporting on the case of Elza Kungayeva will be read. The play will open on September 21 at 09.00pm in the “La Libreria Gogogl&Company”, on September 25 at 11.30am in the “La Libreria Popolare” and on September 28 at 07.00pm in the “La Libreria 6 Russo”.
Recall that Elza Kungayeva was an 18 year old Chechen girl who was living in the village of Tangi-Chu, in Urus Martan, Chechnya. On the night of March 26–27, 2000 at about 1 a.m. she was abducted by Russian soldiers led by Colonel Yuri Budanov. She was beaten, raped and eventually murdered by them.
