Solidarity with France

After the horrific attack on French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in the center of Paris that left at least a dozen dead on January 7, the Government of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria shared a solidarity message.

Here is the message of Mr Akhmed Zakayev:

President of the Republic of France

Editorial of Charlie Hebdo
Citizens of France

London, January 7, 2015

Subject: Solidarity with France

Mr President,

We, the government of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, are shocked by the “horrific shooting” against the French satirical weekly “Charlie Hebdo” in Paris.

We strongly condemn this brutal and inhuman attack. We, the Chechens, who lost dozens of journalists and human rights activists on the way of freedom and democracy, fully understand your pain. In this difficult moment, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this monstrous attack and the French people.

Mr President, please accept our solidarity with the families those who were killed or injured in the attack, and French people; as well as the assurance of my highest consideration.

Akhmed Zakayev
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria
