F.Zimeray:”Reconstruction of Chechenya is a Sand Castle!”
After ten years a French diplomat was in Chechnya. François Zimeray, the Human Rights Ambassador of French Foreign Affairs Ministry explained to real situation in Chechnya after his official North Caucasus trip.
The Russian puppet Kadirov regime was doing advertisment before the visit of François Zimeray and dreaming which European countries will send back to Chechen refugees with the positive words of Mr.Zimeray. But François Zimeray wasn’t at only the trip which bloody Kadirov regime offered, he has met with the relatives of Chechen victims, local NGOs and the journalists. He explained to real situation in Chechnya as “Reconstruction of Chechnya is a sand castle which will not stand more longer!”.
Mr.François Zimeray was thinking to start his visit in Ingushetia. He was planning to meet with Yunusbek Evkurov, the President of Ingushetia. But whe he arrived to Ingushteia on June 22, 2009, soldiers didn’t let him to go out. The same day, there was an assasination attempt to Yunusbek Evkurov and local soldiers was thinking it isn’t safe for Mr.Zimeray. So, Mr.Zimeray moved to Chechnya.
At firts he met the delegation of puppet Kadirov’s administration. Later he had met with the families of missing people in Chechnya. After his meeting, he met with the Shamsail Saraliev, Foreing Affairs Minister of puppet Kadirov government. During their meeting, Mr.Zimeray explained to human rights violations in Chechnya but when the Shamsail Saraliev denial to kidnapping cases then François Zimeray held a strong language to the Chechen authorities.
The Human Rights Ambassador of French Foreign Affairs Ministry, François Zimeray met also with the representatives of Memorial human rights organization and visited to the newspaper ‘Novaya Gazeta’ in Moscow, Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya was working there before she was murdered by the hitmen of Putin.
François Zimeray said that at his brief during his press metting when he came back from Chechnya,”I feel that the policy in Chechnya is to terrorize people in advance that could switch to the forest. This is totally unacceptable and ineffective. Violence breeds violence. All the stories show that what motivates young people to hiding is to make justice for atrocities committed against relatives or friends!”. And he added: “I have been impressed by the reconstruction of Grozny. But the war continues without a name. I saw a castle of sand which will not take long”.
