According to statement, Musa Mankiev’s brother together with their mother, his wife and two children have been living in the city of Alexandria, Egypt, for four years.
“On November 10, 2009, Ibragim went with the wife to the embassy of Russia with the aim to change their passports. They have filled in a repeated application about issuance of a new passport, they left the embassy and went towards the embankment. Some 200-300 meters away from the embassy of Russia, he and his wife were attacked by unknown persons, dressed in civil clothes, who used brutal force, beat them with truncheons, pushed then into a car and left nobody knows where. On that very day Musa Mankiev’s brother’s wife was released, but she asked to let her see her husband. She was answered that if she told the address of their residence, they would allow her to see him. When she came into the room, where Ibragim was kept, she saw him sitting on the floor with his feet and arms roped and in headphones, not to hear what was spoken around. Ibragim’s face had traces of beatings and consolidated blood. After a while, they took Ibragim’s wife and went to the place where they lived. Having made an illegal search there, they left his wife at home and left without any explanations on Ibragim’s detention. Until today, the fate and whereabouts of Ibragim are unknown” wrote in the statement published in the website “Ingushetiyaru.org“.
As a note, Ibragim had left from Russia in legal ways and Russian police doesn’t search him. Now Musa Mankiev ask help of international community to find his brother.
