Protest in Finland
An action group is organizing a protest in the capital city of Finland on May 27 in honor of the anniversary of the peace treaty between the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria and the Russian Federation.
According to the report, the protest will be held at 12:00pm local time in front of the Russian Embassy in Helsinki (Tehtaankatu, 4). It is expected that Chechen and Ingush refugees, Finnish citizens and representatives of international human rights organizations will participate in the action. The main aim of the protest is to remind everyone of the importance of peace.
Recall that on May 12, 1997, a treaty of peace and cooperation was signed at the Kremlin by Aslan Maskhadov, President of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria and Boris Yeltsin, President of the Russian Federation.
