Mass Grave Found in Chechnya
The website Ichkeria.info reported that a mass grave has been found in the Russian occupied Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.
According to the report, in the Shelkovsky district of northern Chechnya, a mass grave containing victims of extrajudicial killings carried out by Russian occupation forces has been found by local residents.
“The mass grave containing people who were apparently victims of extrajudicial executions by Russian soldiers is located on the outskirts of the village of Chervlennaya, within the Shelkovskaya district. In total, more than 20 people were buried there. The corpses cannot be identified because they were gnawed at by animals. However, we believe that they are victims from the early years of the Russian occupation,” said a human rights activist.
Another human rights defender, who asked to remain anonymous, said that today no one can say how many of these mass graves are on the territory of the Russian occupied Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.
