Invitation to Protest in Hannover
Russian President Vladimir Putin will be in the city of Hannover, Germany to participate in the opening ceremony of a trade fair. However, local activists are inviting everyone to welcome the war criminal Putin with protests.
According to the information, it is confirmed that Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, will be attending the HANNOVER MESSE 2013. The Russian head of state will be in the Hannover Congress Centrum for the opening ceremony on Sunday, April 7, and will also take part in the traditional opening tour of HANNOVER MESSE on Monday, April 8. On both occasions, President Putin will be accompanied by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The Hannover group of German based international human rights organization, The Society for Threatened Peoples (Gesellschaft für bedrohte Völker – GfbV) believes that Putin’s presence cannot be acceptable because of the genocide in Chechnya and his ongoing policies, especially in Chechnya. For this reason, the human rights activists invite everyone to draw attention to the genocide in Chechnya, continuing violence and total impunity in the occupied Chechen lands, at the hands of Putin’s protégé, Ramzan Kadyrov.
The protest will be held at 3:30pm on April 7. Here is the address: Theodor-Heuss-Platz 1 (gegenüber des Messe Haupteinganges) 30175 Hannover.
