Chechen-Ingush and Dagestanis Banned from Sochi Olympics
Advocate Kaloy Akhilgov, former Press Secretary of the Ingush President Yunusbek Yevkurov, has shared information through his social network account stating that residents of the Russian occupied Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Ingushetia and Dagestan need special permission to enter Krasnodar, where the 2014 Winter Olympics will be held.
On the other hand, on January 9, Ingushetia’s Security Council issued a statement and strongly recommended that residents not travel to the Krasnodar region until the end of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. According to the Council, those who want to visit the region need special permission from the Russian Security Service (FSB).
