In accordance with a decision from the Cabinet of Ministers of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, the state news agency “ChechenPress” announced an international literary competition dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Russian occupation of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.

According to the information, any work related to the war and/or occupation in Chechnya can be submitted to the competition. Submissions from candidates will be accepted until December 11, 2014, which is the 20th anniversary of the beginning of Russian aggression in Chechnya.

After submitting, the candidate works will be published by the state news agency “ChechenPress” and other news agencies. As it was in previous competitions in 2004 and 2011, a jury consisting of members of the Cabinet of Ministers, will decide the winners and the best three nominees will be awarded cash prizes. Beside this, all works will gathered as a book and be released. Prizes and gifts will be presented at the first Ministerial conference after the competition.
