The public campaign “Justice for Medet Onlu” has announced that there will be a press conference held in Istanbul with participation by our shaheed, Medet Onlu’s family on April 16.

According to the announcement, Medet Onlu, Honorary Consul of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria in Turkey, was assassinated in his office in the city of Ankara on May 22, 2013. Despite the identification of suspects after a short time, it has been almost one year and so far Turkish authorities have neither arrested a suspect nor opened a legal case related to the assassination. For this reason, the family of Medet Onlu will participate in a press conference where they will try to draw attention to the negligence and darkening of evidence, as well as asking for public support to obtain justice.

The press conference will be held at the Taksim Hill Otel in the city of Istanbul on April 16, 2014 at 12.00am.

We are asking the representatives of foreign media in Turkey to follow the press conference and deliver the voice of the Onlu family.
