Democracy Now – Part.II (Video)
Naptha, a music producer made a music/audio project about Chechnya called “Democracy Now“.
In fact, this album is a follow-up to part I, which was originally released in 2009. Thematically, this album explores some of the same areas, but also opens up new ones. It’s set against the background of particular historical events: the Russian-Chechen Wars that began in 1994, and that continue, in reduced form, today.
Naptha says that he was inspired by some great books he read about the subject such as ‘Allah’s Mountains’ and by documentaries such as Itchkeri Kenti’. He points out that there are still some people in the rest of the world who know about and care about the Chechen people. He hopes that the future can bring lasting peace and true freedom to Chechnya.
Naptha produced a limited number of CDs of the album, but however, it is now also on YouTube:
