Demonstration in Austria in Support of Malinkov Family

Local sources have reported that about 150 people walked to the Waidhofen town center to express solidarity with Musa Malinkov and his family, who are facing the threat of deportation.

Waidhofen residents, who are concerned about the situation facing the Malinkov family, have met weekly since the middle of October. They have even organized a charity and benefit concert for the family. On December 15, they walked into the town center to draw attention to the cause. About 150 people, including children and political party representatives, walked with banners and candles.

“We say loudly and clearly that your wish will be respected and you will be able to build a future in our beautiful town,” said Hermann Wagner, one of the organizers, addressing the family.

Recall that earlier, we reported the case of the Malinkov family. Musa Malinkov was an active supporter of the Chechen National Liberation Movement and for this reason he was abducted from his house and tortured in a prison for days. Musa’s father paid a bribe and bought his freedom but they could not remain in their homeland and were forced to leave the Russian occupied Chechen Republic of Ichkeria in 2010. The 30 year old Musa Malinkov, his wife Malika, their 3 year old son Rasul and 8 month old daughter Rayana came to Austria to ask for asylum. However, their asylum demand was rejected by Austrian authorities and they are facing deportation.
