Relative of Special Operation Victims States That “They were not Militants!”

Ibragim Khayauri, a brother of Rosa Khayauri, 48, who was killed during a special operation in Ordzonikidzevskaya village, Sunzha District of Ingushetia, rejects the version of Ingush authorities that his murdered sister and her son Aslanbek Machukaev, 20, were militants and rendered armed resistance. Kavkaz-Uzel reported it.

According to the statement of the Department for Ingushetia of the Russian FSB: “On October 16, in a private house in the Kirova Street of Ordzonikidzevskaya village four members of a bandit group were liquidated – Aslanbek and Aslan Machukaev, Nazir Gandarov and Rosa Khayauri, who rendered armed resistance to employees of law enforcement bodies.”

Rosa Khayauri, a children’s doctor of the Sunzha Central District Hospital, rented a house at the above address and lived there with her sons Sulumbek and Aslanbek Machukaev. According to Ibragim Khayauri, who refers to eyewitnesses and neighbours of his sister, shortly before the special operation residents of Ordzonikidzevskaya Nazir Gandarov and Aslan Machukaev tried to escape from the pursuit organized by employees of local FSB militia in the neighbouring Dzerzhinskogo Street.

According to Ibragim, trying to escape from FSB militiamen, Gandarov and Machukaev rushed, through kitchen gardens, into the yard of the house, where Rosa Khayauri lived; the seizure groups consisting of employees of Russian and Ingush so-called local power agencies, who were called for help, also arrived there and blocked Gandarov and Machukaev in the house, where Rosa lived with her sons. Ibragim Khayauri has emphasized that Aslan Machukaev was not a relative of Rosa Khayauri, but just a namesake of her sons. “At the moment of special operation, Aslanbek Machukaev was in the house. Rosa’s younger son Sulumbek was in the mosque at that time,” he said.

Rosa Khayauri came to the place of the special operation after Aslanbek called her and said that the house was shelled. She was admitted into the house to her son. “My sister wanted to save her son, to drag him out of the house, since he had nothing to do with the guys who hid in their house. But militans of power agents did not stop fire, and my sister and her son were killed in the shelling. Certainly, they couldn’t render any armed resistance, since had no arms. Eyewitnesses told me that Aslanbek tried to surrender, and he cried it out to militans of FSB. Then, the witnesses heard one of the agents retold that by portable radio, and someone ordered him: ‘Whack them all!’,” said Rosa’s brother.

Ibragim Khayauri is indignant that his sister and his nephew were declared militants. “When FSB miltans let her into the house, they made sure that she had grenades on her, with which she was later allegedly killed. And should a militant call his mother for help?!” he said.

Also, according to Ibragim Khayauri, it was one-sided shelling of the house. “I didn’t hear and didn’t see any traces of fire from inside the house. None of the eyewitnesses also saw it. There was just shelling of the house. When I was admitted into the house, together with the investigatory group, I couldn’t see a single cartridge case anywhere,” he said. In the house, Ibragim Khayauri found his sister, who had died from fragmental wounds, and his nephew Aslanbek lying backwards in the yard.
