Ouest-France, a daily regional newspaper has reported that a Chechen family seeking asylum in France is facing deportation to Poland.

According to the information, the Dzhanaraliev family, a mother and 8 children -aged between 3 and 19-, fled the Russian occupied Chechen Republic of Ichkeria and arrived first in Poland. They then went to France but were deported back to Poland in September 2011. However, the family could not stay in Poland and left for the city of La Roche-sur-Yon in France to seek asylum once again. However, Cimade Vendée, the Prefect of Vendée signed a deportation order to Poland, denying their asylum demand as per the Dublin-II Regulation.

Recall that according to the Dublin-II Regulation, an asylum application must be considered by the member of the EU in which the third-country nationals first crossed the border and entered the EU.
