The Oslo Freedom Forum was held May 18-20, 2009, in Oslo, Norway. This conference brought together some of the world’s leading minds  to honor heroic survivors of political oppression and persecution—men and women who risked their lives for freedom.

Usman Ferzauli was born in Arshti in 1958. He first trained as a construction engineer then studied Law in St Petersburg. During the First Russian-Chechen War, he was Commissioner for Prisoners of  War.
