Demonstration in Moscow for Chechnya
On December 10, one day before the 15th anniversary of Russian occupation in Chechnya, a group of people who have respect human rights and law rules demonstrated against Russia’s colonialist policy and war crimes in Chechnya.
The demonstration was organized by United Civil Front (Obyedinyonniy Grazhdanskiy Front – OGF), Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (Federatsia Nezavisimiikh Profsoyutz Rossia – FNPR) and Anti-War Club. Around 20 people gathered to the protest demonstration near the Gribeyedov Monument in Moscow between 17.30 – 19.00 hours. The participants carried posters like “Tomorrow is the Beginning Day of War!”, “Chechnya, Forgive Us!”, “The War in Caucasus, A Crime Against Humanity”.
“Despite the declaring of Russian authorities about end of Russian-Chechen war, in the reality it continiouse today. And it seems that will continue for a long time. Now the war in Chechnya is in a guerilla form. Also in the region, daily explosions and killing of innocent civilians continue. I belive that this war is a result of incompetent Caucasus policy of Russian authorities ” said Lolita Tsariya, heads the Moscow branch of the United Civil Front.
