The official website of Seimas of the Lithuanian Republic (Lietuvos Respublikos Seimas) has stated that there will be a round table discussion on “Lithuanian VSD, Russian FSB and the Law” in the “Baltic Assembly Hall” on February 22nd.

The discussion will question the legal soundness of joint operational activities of the Russian FSB and Lithuanian VSD (State Security Police) according to international and Lithuanian laws. The round table discussion has been organized by the Parliamentary Group for Relations with the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.

On the other hand, Russia’s Lithuanian Ambassador Vladimir Chkhikvadze, gave an interview to the Russian media and accused this group of Russo phobia. He pointed out that Lithuania continues to support official-level representatives of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.

The Russian federal news agency, “Regnum” has complained that Lithuania does not recognize Chechnya as a part of Russian Federation because of this support group in the Lithuanian Parliament.
