Local sources in the Russian occupied Chechen Republic of Ichkeria have reported that civilians in Grozny were forced to greet the Olympic Torch for the Sochi Winter Games.
According to the information, on January 28, at 7:30 am, men and women of all ages from around the capital city of Grozny were forced to line up along the main streets of the city to meet the Olympic Torch for the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi. Chechen civilians waited for hours in the -4 °C temperature. When the “sacred” Olympic flame passed, people were released from the lines.
