According to Chechens who live in Maykop, nationalist Adyghe youngs have assaulted to Chechen and Ingush youngs in Maykop on June 9, 2009.

On late hours of June 9, 2009 evening, around 20 Adyghe youngs who are members of a group is calling themselves “National Activists” and coordinating by Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), assaulted to Chechen and Ingush youngs in the Lenin square at Maykop, the capital of Adyghe Republic of Russia Federation.  When they saw Chechen youngs, one guy from the Adyghean group asked them “What is your nationality?” and they got the answer “We are Chechen”. After the answer nationalist Adyghean group started to hit Chechen and Ingush youngs in front of the polices, but police have just wacth them silently. When three Chechen was knifed, then police stopped to group. Now three Chechen youngs are at the hospital seriously beaten and injured with knife, doctors say their situation are still critical. Police arrested some Adyghean youngs and took them to police station, but nationalist youngs was going on to harrassment there also.

On the other hand, this provoked assaulted was at the local media in a different way. According to local media drank Chechen youngs and Adygheans fighted. But the families of victims are refused this claim becuse of their children don’t use drink and they repeated: “This is an assault against to Chechens provoked by FSB”.
