Arrest Warrant for Gataev Couple Revoked
The Lithuanian media reported that the Court of Appeals has reversed the arrest warrant issued by the Klaipėda District Court for Malik and Khadizhat Gataeva.
According to the report, on May 8 the Court of Appeals found the arrest warrant decision of the Klaipėda District Court illegal because there were no grounds for an arrest. A spokesman for the court said that the claims were not true because the couple had been granted asylum in Finland and have no criminal processes against them. Due to these circumstances, the Court of Appeals finds the arrest warrant from March 30th as unjustified and cancelled the entire decision, including the arrest warrant itself.
Let us recall that Finnish Immigration authorities granted asylum to Malik and Khadizhat Gataeva last week.
