The Swedish TV network, TV4, has reported that a Chechen asylum seeker, who is facing a forced deportation from Sweden, started a hunger strike on September 10.

Earlier we had reported the urgent situation of Chechen mother Tamila Tankaeva, and her two kids. However, according to the report, there has not been any positive progress in their situation, and Tamila has started a hunger strike to protest the attitude of the Swedish Immigration Office and to find a way of staying in Sweden.

Recall that, Tamila Tankaeva’s husband was an active member of national liberation side and due to his work, was abducted and murdered by the Russian invaders. She has also faced the Russian brutality as she was subjected to torture and rape. Moreover, her 15-year old daughter Madina suffers from Down’s Syndrome; Madina needs special medical treatment, and Tamila herself needs serious psychological help because of her traumatic past.
