Refugees in Ingushetia Hope for Attention

The regional public movement “Chechen Committee for National Salvation” published a press release that points out the problems facing refugees from Chechnya and the Prigorodny district of North Ossetia, in Ingushetia.

According to the press release, the representatives of the “Chechen Committee for National Salvation (ChCNS)” visited the refugees in Ingushetia on the eve of 2011. Zura Bugaeva, from “Malhas” residing; Darzha Tasueva, from “Crystal” residing; Roza Sukieva, from “Kazarma-Voshod” residing; Liza Akieva and Zaynap Shauhalova, from “Kazarma” residing; and Roza Dolakova, from “Sadik-1” residing, have spoke in detail about their problems.

They spoke about the affairs in “small towns of refugees,” such as: problems with the water supply, problems with the gas and electricity supply and payment for them. Also, they ask for help for routine repairs in the places where they live.

In their opinion, the authorities do not give them enough attention. The matter is not only about material aid, as the people somehow cope with it. They need encouragement, which is absent from the authorities, even though the power structure is obliged to show them mercy, sympathy and to render them necessary help. In recent years, there has not been, with rare exception, formal attention from Russian or international humanitarian and charitable organizations.

They have expressed hope that in 2011, they will at last feel from the authorities, public and human rights organizations more understanding and the necessary attention to their needs and concerns.
