Chechen Prisoner Dies in Russian Prison

Local sources have reported that a Chechen prisoner has been tortured to death in the Russian penal colony “IK-3” in Tomsk, Russia.

According to the information, Chechen prisoner Zubayr Adlanovich Idrisov, born in 1991, was subjected to severe torture in the Russian penal colony “IK-3” in Tomsk. Idrisov was one of many Chechen-Ingush prisoners to be tortured in Russian prisons. Sadly, his body could not handle the inhumane brutality any longer and he lost his life.

It is no secret that thousands of Chechen-Ingush prisoners are subjected to beatings, various methods of torture, and other inhumane practices. However, world leading human rights organizations and European institutes tend to turn a blind eye to it, just as they do with the Chechen issue in general. After this murder, we ask once again that all humanitarian organizations and people of goodwill act immediately to bring an end to the pain of these prisoners.
