Several North Caucasian diaspora organizations have published various condolences and condemnation messages after the assassination of Honorary Consul of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Medet Unlu at his office in Ankara on May 22.

The Caucasus Forum (Kafkasya Forumu) has declared that they will keep following the developments of the assassination until the criminals behind it are found. They have also condemned this cursed attack.

The Federation of Caucasian Associations (Kafkas Dernekleri Federasyonu) has published a written statement in which they have pointed out that Medet Unlu devoted his life to the existence of the Chechen nation. They have asked the Turkish authorities to find his murderers as soon as possible and bring them to justice.

The Federation of Circassian Associations (Çerkes Dernekleri Federasyonu) has indicated that this atrocious attack hurt them deeply, and only if the murderers are found, will their pain lessen a bit. They have also called on the Turkish authorities to find a way to end these ongoing incidents.

The Union of Caucasian Writers (Kafkasyalı Yazarlar Birliği) written statement pointed out that Medet Unlu was a respected by anyone with common sense and he was known by North Caucasians as a caring and fair-minded man.

The Initiative of Circassian Rights (Çerkes Hakları İnisiyatifi) has emphasized that it is not the first assassination against people who stand up for independence, in reference to the Chechen national question, and as it seems, it will not be the last one. The organization has brought attention to the weakness of Turkish security organizations and reminds them that the previous murders still have not yet been solved.
