A group of people who have respect to humanitarian values and calling themselves as “Boycott Sochi Team”, have started a project “Boycott Sochi 2014”. Their aim is expressing the real face of Russia and creating a civic movement for blocking 2014 Winter Olympic Games in the Russian resort of Sochi, near Abkhazia.

“Boycott Sochi Team” runs a webpage under BoycottSochi.eu domain name. They have expressed their mission and aims in the project. According to “Boycott Sochi Team”, their project was founded because they do not accept breaking human rights and hypocrisy  of modern times. They says, they cannot stand by silently while people are being killed there, freedom and human rights are being broken  and cold war times are coming back smoothly and imperceptibly.

The project explains the main reasons for boycott: Genocide in Chechnya, Agression in Georgia on 2008, Acting like Cold War Times, Breaking Human Rights and Democracy, Referring to Soviet Union, Threat to the Nature, Lack of Security.

In the website of the project, history of boycott in olympic games and Putin’s Russia’s real face are available. Also there is a sign petition for boycott.

We, WaYNaKH Online, fully supporting the idea of “Boycott Sochi 2014”, because “Olympic games are a symbol of peace! It’s simply contradictory for a country which in the 21st century changed borders by the use of force and occupying another countries’ territories, committing crimes against humanity and war crimes, doing ethnic cleansing to then host the Olympics!” So we call everybody and whole world community to Blocking Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games!
