Punitive Practices Against Relatives of the Chechen Mujahedeen Continue

“Radio Marsho“, the Chechen language radio station has reported referring to its sources in the Russian occupied Chechen Republic of Ichkeria that authorities from the pro-Russian regime have increased their attempts at using the relatives of Chechen mujahedeen to persuade members of the Chechen national liberty movement to surrender.

According to a resident from the Nozhai-Yurt district, it is the third time that the pro-Russian regime’s armed bandits have forced them to go the mountains for their relatives who continue the armed struggle against Russian invaders and their local collaborators.

According to testimony from residents, in their group there were 10-15 civilians from Vedeno, Shatoy, Nozhai-Yurt and Shali. They were asked to go an appointed place. In case they weren’t there, armed bandits from the pro-Russian regime used brutal torture on the men and women regardless of their ages.

Zalpa, a resident from the village of Shelkovskaya, says that her family suffers daily punishments at the hands of armed bandits of the pro-Russian regime in Chechnya because of their son, who is her closest relative in the ranks of the armed Chechen resistance movement. Zalpa points out that only because of such inhumane acts of the occupation authorities, people hate them and refuse to recognize their regime. She, like many other residents in the Russian occupied Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, is confident that this practice of the repressive pro-Russian regime against the relatives of Chechen mujahedeen contributes to an increase in the number of members of the resistance movement.
