Russian media sources have reported that two Chechen civilians from the Russian occupied Chechen Republic of Ichkeria were killed in Moscow and St Petersburg.

According to the reports, on June 24 at around 10:00pm in the Vyborg district of St Petersburg, unknown people in a BMW X5 shot a 38-year old Chechen who worked for a furniture company. The Chechen man died at the scene from gunshot wounds to his chest. The attackers put the victim’s body into the trunk of a VAZ-2107 car. They left the car near the metro station “Prospekt Prosvetsheniya” and called the police. There is no information about the attackers or their motives.

On June 25 at around 10:10pm in the Moscow metro, two drunken Russian youths attacked A.Shepelev, a 32-year old Chechen from the Naur district of Chechnya, after a quarrel. According to the report, the drunken Russians attacked the Chechen man on the exit stairs from “Tretyakovskaya” and pushed him from the parapets. As a result, the Chechen man was hospitalized with an open head injury, contusion of the brain, and fracture of bones of the skull base, as well as fractures of the hip and knee. He died later at the hospital from his injuries. One of the attackers, an 18-year old Russian, was arrested while the second is still at large.
